Is this a migraine? Am I okay?

In the last couple of months I’ve had 2-3 episodes where one of my eyes got zig-zaggy lines with blind spot for about 20 minutes, then went away. I wrote it off as an "ophthalmic migraine," from what I read on google. Then today I was getting my nails done when I had that same symptom in both eyes. It started to go away, and then I got the most fearsome headache ever on the top right of my forehead, along with nausea but no vomiting. I went home after pulling over til I could drive again, took a 45 minute shut-eye, and felt much better. I still feel kind of like a mild normal headache right now, hours later, especially if I move my head quickly, but it feels like it’s getting better.

I’m 26 years old, and have never even had a real headache before, let alone something like this. Is it normal to get a first migraine at my age? Is that what this was? I’m getting myself pretty worked up about having brain cancer or something awful

I would definitely go to the doc and describe the symptoms. I have been a migraine sufferer for many years and I would probably just chalk it up to a migraine if this hadn’t been your first one. Especially where you go from having zero to having 2-3 in few months. I’ve always had horrible headaches, I can’t remember when I didn’t have them…Better safe than sorry.

I had the same thing happen, I even got double vision one day while driving! I had to pull over immediately and wait for it to pass then I had the blank spots for several hours after. I went to an Opthamolgist who said it was ‘opthalmagic migraines." I started taking a herbal supplement, and it has significantly reduced the number of migraines, and I haven’t had anymore of the "visual aura". What I take is from my naturopath and its a mixture of Feverfew, Lavender, and Willowbark. I take one every night before bed. And no side effects!–Good Luck!

I had an attack just like you described. My pain went away and then returned. It turns out I had a brain aneurysm. I bled into my brain for almost a month before I had a Grande Mal seizure and was taken to the horse-pistol. Get it checked out.

you need to see a doc. you can get migraines at any age, but you need to seek out what is happening, describe exactly what happened to the doctor and if you don’t have insurance go to county hospital or a local clinic. this could be as simple as allergies but if it is something more serious then you need to get a handle on it NOW.
